Trevor Munson's Bio
Trevor started his Hollywood career when he made the quarter finals in the Nicholl Fellowships and took fourth place in the Slamdance Screenwriter competition with his original screenplay "Lone Star State of Mind".
The success of the script led to Trevor getting an agent, and to his first job writing a movie based on the real life theft of seventeen million dollars from Loomis Fargo for Fox television.
The following year “Lone Star State of Mind” went into production in Trevor’s home town of Austin, Texas for Sony Screen Gems and starred Joshua Jackson, Jamie King, and Matt Davis.
Trevor’s next assignment was adapting John Welter’s novel “I Want to Buy a Vowel” for New Line Cinema.
Having grown tired of assignment work, Trevor decided to try his hand at novel writing. As a result, he took some time away from Hollywood to work on a first novel entitled "Angel of Vengeance," a modern noir story about a vampire private investigator in Los Angeles, which was published and released on February 1, 2011, to rave reviews. The manuscript became the basis for the CBS television series "Moonlight" for which Trevor served as co-creator and co-Executive producer. Although short-lived, the show's loyal fan base helped it win the People's Choice Award for Best New Drama, and the DVD won the Saturn Award for the 2008 Best DVD Television Release.
Since the show ended, Trevor currently has several projects in various states of development. He divides his time between living in Los Angeles and wishing he lived somewhere else.

Lone Star State Of Mind

The DVD Cover Of Lone Star State Of Mind
I wrote the movie Lone Star State of Mind during my last semester of grad school. I worked on it one day a week over the course of that semester. Initially my idea was to write a dark action movie centered around the idea that a guy with a Jesus-complex is forced to do bad things in order to help the people he cares about. As I began creating the characters and writing the initial voice over, however, the tone took a distinctly comedic twist. Deciding that this felt right to me, I went with it and the script became a dark comedy.
In the end, it was the script responsible for getting me my start as a professional writer in Hollywood. It did well in the screenwriting competitions I entered, got me an agent, and was eventually optioned and made by Bedford Falls and Sony Screen Gems. It was the first time I got to see my words actually come to life on screen. You never forget your first time...
